In continuation of the Rotary Foundation Day celebrations, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar organised a laparoscopic sterilization program at the Urban Health Centre, Silchar, on 24th February 2026, as part of its commitment to maternal and child health, family welfare, and responsible healthcare. The procedure was conducted by renowned gynecologist and laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Ashutosh Barman, ensuring safe and professional medical care for the beneficiaries. During the program, 2 vasectomy and 20 tubectomy procedures were successfully performed. With this initiative, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar has now facilitated a total of 100 sterilisation procedures, marking a significant step towards reducing maternal mortality and promoting healthier families. The program reflected Rotary’s enduring spirit of service, compassion, and dedication to community well-being.
