CLUB LEADERSHIP LEARNING SEMINAR 2.0

PARTICIPATION IN DISTRICT PROGRAMME SAMPARK 3.0

On 26th April 2026, members of the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar proudly participated in District Programme Sampark 3.0, graciously hosted by Rotary Club of Greenland Silchar at the elegant Cachar Club. Led by Club President Dr. Rajat Deb, the presence of our esteemed members reflected the spirit of fellowship, learning, and service above self. Adding pride to the occasion, our club member Rtn. Dr. Rohan Biswas actively participated in the debate programme on Public Image, sharing thoughtful insights and representing the club with confidence and dedication. The event beautifully strengthened the bond of Rotary friendship and inspiration.

CLUB ASSEMBLY & CULTURAL PROGRAMME

On 12th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar warmly organized a memorable Club Assembly and Cultural Programme at the club building, celebrating fellowship, unity, and the vibrant spirit of Rotary. The evening came alive with beautiful cultural performances by young participants whose talent and innocence touched every heart and added warmth to the occasion. CELEBRATION OF POILA BAISAKH & RONGALI BIHU

On 12th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar joyfully celebrated Poila Baisakh and Rongali Bihu, bringing together traditions, culture, and fellowship in a memorable gathering. The programme was gracefully anchored by Past Secretary Rtn. Dr. Juri Sharma and led by Club President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb in the esteemed presence of AG Rtn. Biswajit Banik and his wife, along with respected Rotarians from various clubs. The evening was enriched by beautiful dance performances on Rabindra Sangeet and Bihu by young participants, who were lovingly honoured with awards. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF TRIBENI HAFLONGBAR

On 12th April, members gathered at the Capital Building to celebrate the birthday of Tribeni Haflongbar, an active and vibrant member of the Rotaract Club of Greater Silchar Royal. BEGINNING OF WORLD ROTARACT WEEK

On 10th March 2026, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar marked the first day of World Rotaract Week with warmth, unity, and the true spirit of service. The celebration featured a delightful cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the strong and inspiring bond between Rotary and Rotaract. Graced by the vibrant presence of Rotarians and Rotaractors of the Rotaract Club of Greater Silchar Royal, the event reflected shared values of leadership, fellowship, and community service. Amid smiles and camaraderie, the gathering renewed its commitment to “Service Above Self,” setting a heartfelt and inspiring tone for the week ahead.

A REMARKABLE ROTARY CYCLING EXPEDITION

It was a proud and inspiring moment for the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar to warmly meet Rtn. Pappu Ram Choudhary from the Rotary Club of Nagaur, Rajasthan (RI District 3053), who is currently on an extraordinary All India Cycling Expedition from Nagaur to Mount Everest Base Camp with a noble mission to promote environmental awareness through tree plantation. His remarkable journey reflects immense dedication, courage, and a deep commitment towards protecting our planet, truly embodying the spirit of Rotary’s service to humanity. The members of the club felt deeply motivated by his inspiring initiative. The club also extends heartfelt thanks to Rtn. Lalit Verma for his generous hospitality and for warmly hosting and entertaining the esteemed guest, making the meeting memorable and meaningful for everyone.

PARTICIPATION IN BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

With immense pride and joy, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar participated in the Badminton Tournament organized by the Rotary Club of Greenland Silchar on 1st February 2026 at Indoor Stadium, Silchar. Our Club President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, President Elect Rtn. Monoj Jain (Jr.), and members Rtn. Rohan Yadav, Rtn. Pulak Das, Rtn. Ranbir Dasgupta, and Mr. Panna Das showcased excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication on the court. Through their remarkable performance and strong team spirit, our club proudly secured the maximum number of prizes in the tournament, bringing great honor to the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar. The celebration continued with the Prize Distribution Ceremony on 2nd February 2026, which also coincided with the Official Visit of our respected District Governor, making it a truly memorable and inspiring occasion.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

The Rotary Club of Greater Silchar celebrated Republic Day with great pride and patriotic fervour, reflecting the true spirit of unity and national devotion. The celebration was marked by the graceful unfurling of the National Flag by the Club President, symbolising respect for the Constitution and the democratic values of our nation. TRF SEMINAR 3.0

The Rotary Club of Greater Silchar proudly hosted the District TRF Seminar 2026 on 31st January at Sagarika Resort, Rongpur, Silchar, in an atmosphere filled with warmth and true Rotary spirit. The seminar commenced with cordial registration and traditional hospitality, followed by the formal inauguration under the leadership of District Governor Rtn. Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elangbam and ceremonial lamp lighting by esteemed Rotary leaders. Smoothly anchored by Tanushree Deb, the programme featured inspiring addresses and an impactful keynote by PDG Rtn. Sunil Mehra, highlighting the strength of The Rotary Foundation. A soulful jugalbandi by two specially-abled Rotaractors deeply moved the audience. The seminar achieved an impressive TRF commitment of $2.06 lakh and concluded with fellowship, dinner, music, and heartfelt gratitude—truly reflecting Rotary’s mission of Doing Good in the World.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR OFFICIAL VISIT

The DG Official Visit of the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar, held on 30th January 2026 at the Club Building, was a proud and inspiring milestone for the club. A day earlier, DG Sir was warmly received at the airport with traditional Uttoriyo and flowers by Club President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, Past President Rtn. Mulchand Baid, Sergeant-at-Arms Rtn. Rohan Yadav, and Rtn. Biswadeep Ghosh, reflecting true Rotary fellowship and hospitality. The official meeting was gracefully conducted, featuring meaningful interaction, presentation of club achievements and future plans, and an encouraging address by DG Sir, complemented by appreciation from AG Sir. The club also observed Martyrs’ Day with a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Notably, a Global Grant proposal was positively endorsed, and valuable guidance was shared through checklist verification and a training session, making the visit enriching and memorable.

MARTYRS DAY CELEBRATION

On the occasion of the official visit of our respected District Governor, the Rotary Club celebrated Martyrs’ Day with deep reverence and patriotic spirit. The solemn programme was marked by the District Governor, along with the Club President, Secretary, and esteemed members, offering floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, remembering his supreme sacrifice for the nation. The atmosphere was filled with dignity and reflection as both the District Governor and the Club President delivered beautiful and inspiring speeches, highlighting the timeless values of truth, non-violence, and selfless service that continue to guide Rotary’s mission. The observance stood as a meaningful blend of Rotary fellowship and national homage, reinforcing our collective commitment to serve society with integrity and compassion.

PARTICIPATION IN DISTRICT CONFERRENCE

The 36th District Conference of Rotary International District 3240, PRATIDHWANI, held at Shillong from 9th to 11th January 2026, unfolded as a soulful confluence of fellowship, learning, and service under the evocative theme “A Symphony of Nature & Knowledge.” The Rotary Club of Greater Silchar marked its graceful presence through an enthusiastic delegation led by IPP Rtn. Jayajit Biswas, President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, President-Elect Rtn. Manoj Jain, and Secretary Rtn. Abhijit Paul, whose active participation reflected the club’s unwavering commitment to Rotary ideals. More than a conference, PRATIDHWANI resonated as a heartfelt celebration of unity, humanity, and service above self, leaving every Rotarian inspired and uplifted.

Bon Appétit in True Rotary Spirit — On the serene soil of Meghalaya, where journeys found purpose and hearts met warmth, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar created a truly memorable moment as our beloved Rtn. Lalit Verma graciously opened his petrol pump campus not merely as a halt, but as a haven of hospitality for Rotarians of District 3240 travelling by road to PRATIDHWANI; with delicious food, endless smiles, and heartfelt camaraderie, the French phrase “Bon Appétit” came alive in its truest sense—not in words, but in fellowship, sharing, and Rotary goodwill—making it a beautiful taste of unity served with love and proudly hosted by the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar.

On 20th December 2025, a meaningful Financial Education Workshop was organized by the Rotary Club of Silchar at their club Conference Hall, Silchar. The evening turned into a perfect blend of learning and fellowship, where valuable financial knowledge was shared in a warm and engaging atmosphere. Our club Secretary, Rtn. A condolence meeting was held at the office of Rotary Club of Greater Silchar, Capital Bhavan, under the presidentship of Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, to mourn the sad demise of Smt. A Tearful Tribute to Zubin da

With profound sorrow, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar mourns the passing of our beloved legend Zubin Garg. His voice was not just music—it was the heartbeat of Assam and the soul of India. Club President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb spoke with deep emotion about Zubin da’s unmatched gift and how his songs became memories for every Assamese heart. His melodies carried the spirit of our land, bringing joy in celebration and comfort in pain. Zubin da was more than a singer; he was an emotion, a beacon of culture, and a bridge across generations. His loss leaves an emptiness words can hardly hold, yet his music will forever echo in our lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and countless admirers. On 29th July 2025, the three Rotary Clubs of Silchar came together in a spirit of fellowship and service at Cachar Club, Silchar, to welcome our DG Elect, Dr. Ashim Adhikary. It was an afternoon filled with warmth, inspiring words, and the shared vision of making a difference. The camaraderie over lunch strengthened our bonds, reminding us that when hearts unite, service knows no boundaries.

8TH INSTALLATION CEREMONY

Passing the Baton of Service The 8th Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Greater Silchar marked a graceful exchange of leadership, as President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb took charge in the august presence of DG Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elangbam, PDG Nilesh Agarwal, and AG Biswajit Banik. Outgoing President Rtn. Joyjit Biswas’s impactful year found a proud mention in Secretary Rtn. Dr. Juri Sarma’s report, reflecting projects that touched countless lives. Two acts of compassion lit the evening — a cheque of ₹10 lakh to Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan for the treatment of poor cancer patients at Cachar Cancer Hospital, and ₹60,000 to the District Tuberculosis Officer for nutrition kits for 20 adopted TB patients. With blessings from Rotary Clubs of Silchar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi, the evening ended in fellowship, music, and hope for another year of “Service Above Self.”

On 1st July on the occasion of Doctors Day our club RC Greater Silchar felicitated the Doctors of our club Dr. Juri Sarma, Dr.Richa Dutta and other doctors from Rotaract club of Greater Silchar. On the same day our club celebrated the day by cutting a cake among the doctors.
