Passing the Baton of Service The 8th Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Greater Silchar marked a graceful exchange of leadership, as President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb took charge in the august presence of DG Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elangbam, PDG Nilesh Agarwal, and AG Biswajit Banik. Outgoing President Rtn. Joyjit Biswas’s impactful year found a proud mention in Secretary Rtn. Dr. Juri Sarma’s report, reflecting projects that touched countless lives. Two acts of compassion lit the evening — a cheque of ₹10 lakh to Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan for the treatment of poor cancer patients at Cachar Cancer Hospital, and ₹60,000 to the District Tuberculosis Officer for nutrition kits for 20 adopted TB patients. With blessings from Rotary Clubs of Silchar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi, the evening ended in fellowship, music, and hope for another year of “Service Above Self.”
