On 8th March 2026, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar celebrated International Women’s Day at Urban BPHC, Silchar, honouring the strength and achievements of women. The programme featured awareness sessions on health, legal rights, and self-defense, led by eminent speakers including Dr. Kaban Teronpi, Bishwajit Banik, Advocate Priyanka Roy, Prof. Dr. Rajasree Dev, and Usha Rani Singh. A self-defense demonstration by Sagnik Gupta, felicitation of women achievers, a thematic drama, cultural performances, and a vibrant fashion show added depth and colour to the event. Led by President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, the programme reflected Rotary’s commitment to women’s empowerment and dignity.
