Overview
On 24th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar in association with RCC Netaji Chatra Yuba Sangstha (NCYS), and in collaboration with the Department of Social Work Students, Assam University, Silchar, successfully organized a Candle Making Training Programme at Hatitilla, Silcoorie for members of various Self Help Groups (SHGs). The initiative aimed to promote skill development, self-reliance, and livelihood opportunities among women and community members through practical vocational training. Participants were provided hands-on guidance on candle making techniques, raw materials, and small-scale business opportunities, encouraging them towards self-employment and financial empowerment. The programme reflected Rotary’s commitment towards community development and sustainable livelihood generation, inspiring participants to build a brighter and more independent future through skill-based learning.
