Rotary Club of Greater Silchar – Caring for Women’s Health On 29th July 2025, the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar took another step towards empowering women’s health by donating 1,000 sanitary napkins to patients at SM Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar. Alongside the donation, an awareness session on menstrual hygiene was held, where doctors highlighted the dangers of using non-sterile cloth and the need to adopt safe practices. Club President Dr. Rajat Deb handed over the items to Hospital Superintendent Dr. A.K. Patoa, while Dr. Arpita Deb inspired participants to break the silence around menstruation. She stressed that poor hygiene can cause serious infections and that access to clean products is a basic right, especially for women in hospitals and rural areas. This initiative, under Maternal & Child Health and as a Permanent Project, reflects Rotary’s commitment to dignity, health, and hope for every woman.
