Overview
A special awareness camp on Blood and Eye Donation was organized today at Nehru College, Pailapool, by the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar in collaboration with Saksham South Assam. The program aimed to inspire students to donate blood and spread awareness about eye donation to combat corneal blindness.
Rotarians Suhash Ranjan Dhar and Panna Das represented the club, while Dr. Mithun Roy, Associate Professor of Sociology and Secretary of Saksham South Assam Prant, and Dr. Mahua Ray Karmakar, NSS Program Officer, addressed the gathering.
Speakers highlighted that blood donation is a noble act that saves lives and strengthens communities, while eye donation is a gift that restores light to the visually impaired. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, with the NSS Unit of Nehru College pledging to continue such meaningful initiatives in the future.
