The Rotary Club of Greater Silchar continues its dedicated efforts to strengthen Maternal and Child Health in its adopted village, Coomber Tea Garden, with a special focus on achieving Zero Maternal & Child Death and supporting the Anemia Mukt Bharat mission. As part of this initiative, three High-Risk Pregnant Women received vital Iron Sucrose infusions to combat anemia, resulting in improved hemoglobin levels from 8 gm% to 10 gm%. One beneficiary, Gayatri Mal, safely delivered her baby on 23/10/2025, while another, Anita Tanti (26), diagnosed with severe anemia (Hb 6 gm%), was admitted to the High-Risk Room and provided timely blood transfusion at Silchar Civil Hospital; the third mother, Moni Balmiki, continues to receive regular follow-up care. Led by President Dr. Rajat Deb and Past Secretary Dr. Juri Sarma, this compassionate intervention reflects Rotary’s unwavering commitment to safe motherhood and healthier futures for mothers and children in the region.
