The Rotary Club of Greater Silchar organised a meaningful Human Rights Awareness Programme at Central Jail, Silchar, aiming to spread awareness, compassion, and a sense of dignity among the inmates. The programme was graced by Club President Rtn. Dr. Rajat Deb, Past Secretary Rtn. Dr. Juri Sharma, and fellow Rotarians, and was made possible through the dedicated initiative of Advocate Rtn. Rohan Yadav. The presence of Chief Guest Advocate Amalava Das greatly enriched the event, as his inspiring and empathetic address highlighted the importance of human rights, justice, and hope for positive transformation. Jail officials extended warm support to the programme, and inmates courageously shared their concerns, receiving assurance of guidance and support. The Jail Authority expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Rotary Club of Greater Silchar for this thoughtful initiative, which truly reflected Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self.
